I watched the highlights on match-of-the day last night (BBC1) and it was a good game.
I like the hammers because they play positive attacking footie and Curbs in a good manager.
Only 1 point and 2 places behind the Champions, though obviously that gap will widen as the season goes on!

Up the hammers!

p.s. that poor man being crushed by that fan; he looks rather red in the face!

p.p.s. and the man on the lhs of the photo looks like he has funny teeth!

:p

Mind you several of them look like they have funny teeth.!

Hi Tony,

Mmmm a good win for the Hammers. Bellamy looks sharp. I think they'll do well, if they don't hit the self destruct button.

I like West Ham's tradition more than their present day outfit. They provided the backbone to the England 1966 world cup winning team- Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters and (of course) Bobby Moore.

A few years ago they had a great manager called Harry Rednapp. They had lots of young talented players, but they shot themselves in the foot by sacking Harry and fell out of the premiership.

I'm not sure about Curbishley. He hasn't got the psazz i look for in a West Ham manager. He's spent a lot of money and they should do well, but mmmmthere's still something missing somehow....

Nice to see that photo again. The guy on the left still looks like Ronaldo??What do you think Kahless?? Liverpool look dangerous this year.

Best wishes

Nick.

Hi Nick,

Yes Liverpool do look dangerous but remember, this is their first time at the top in 5 years. When they lose a game they go on a losing run so I am optimistic that they wont win the league. (Any team but the scousers!! I couldn't bear all the stick that I'd get at work.)

I like Curbs and I think he is a better manager than rednapp. To me Harry is a good bargain basement manager!

And I think he likes passing the brown envelopes under the table!

I love that photo. Especially the guy in the center.

What is it with the men and the sports?

Hi Kahless,

No hon I can't agree with you on that one. Harry is a much better manager than Curbishley. In the past he has overachieved, building good footballing teams which play with style on next to nothing.

I think Liverpool will come close this season. In contrast United haven't got the balance right-yet. I think they'll need another striker in the next window, but hopefully they can manage okay until then.

I'm hoping Villa can upset Chelsea this afternoon. That would really put a smile on my face. I'd rather Liverpool win the title than Chelsea. For me, it's anyone but Chelsea.

Best wishes,

Nick

One of the great things about football is its about differing opinions.

Did you know that under Curbs at Charlton they had lower spending and wage bills than Harry did at West Ham. Not 100% sure but I am 80% sure. I will google it later.

And for me Nick, anyone but Liverpool!
Anyone!

Sorry Nick,

I googled it and West Ham had spent less than Charlton, well that is net of sale of players.
So I was wrong in my last comment.

And hey, Chelsea lost

Hi Kahless,

I must say I'm very pleased with Villa tonight. It was good to see Roman leave early. I think he's dissillusioned with Chelsea's style of footy. I think he'd rather watch United or the Hammers.

I notice the conkers are gettin big on the trees Kahless. You noticed? It'll soon be time for the conker season too.

Hope yr smiling tonight like me.

Nick.

Hi Nick,

There are no conker trees near me where I live. I must ask one of the guys at work who have kids to bring me a couple into work.

In fact I may organise a conker competition with my team at work; I think most of them would be game to join in.

Thanks for the remind...

I didn't catch the game as I was fixing my pc instead, but at least that is sorted now.

Have a good week.
Kahless.

Nick and kahless,

Yes it was a good win.

they did play a fair bit of the game on TV here. For some reason they often do show West Ham, not too sure why.
