Graffiti’s script
One of the ways to understand who you are and why you are, is to look at the heros, characters or figures that you relate to or identify with. This can be movie stars, singers, dancers or just characters from film, TV or the media.
When I did this exercise a long time ago I instantly came up with 3 characters.
Snorky the elephant from the Banana Splits

Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh

And Marvin the Martian

What do all these three have in common?

Either dont speak, or quietly spoken.
Sad.
And also huggable.

I love Snorky!!! Ohh my goodness! My favourite! Him and his horn honking honking!! I can see him now, remembering! Ohh my favourite telly show! EVER! I love it! Love it!! Oh my goodness i'm giggling all inside!
Aww Eeyore! He's the best! I don't care what anyone says or thinks he's the best and the cutiest! So sweet how the simplest things count. It's life that sucks big time! How all the importance is put on everything that isn't important at all! And he has a very valid point! Oh yeah! But thoughtful and sweet! Kind and gentle! Quiet but faithful! And it's the little things that mean the most! It is!! Really - it is. He just wanted to be part of it. Just wanted to be... real.
Marvin! Yep i love this little guy. I loved how his little feet just toddled, the way he thought he knew it all or could know it all. He really believed that. That was his strength, but his weekness too i guess. These are wonderful people Graffiti! You've picked the best of many many beauties.
I remember watching the banana splits and Looney tunes, and Disney. When they finished (and they always did) I would cry and cry unconsolabley. My parents finally understood. It took them a while i think. But there are some things in life that end too early or feel as though they shouldn't end at all. I remember the feeling - grieving over the fact that things end. It hurts
I can't imagine who i would pic as my favs. Wow you picked some really meaning ful ones! You are a deep one aren't you. Love this post. I'm grateful...
Peter pan didn't have to grow up either...

Aw. I like the description of huggable for these characters. :-)
Posted by: Lynn | Monday, 24 September 2007
They're sad? How are they sad?
Posted by: Roses | Monday, 24 September 2007
Their faces are sad Roses. I don't know who the first and last are so I'm just going on the faces and what I see in the pictures.
Posted by: Madeleine | Monday, 24 September 2007
But Madeleine, Snorkle is being cute and bashful, Eeyore is enjoying the moment and Marvin is just wondering if anyone knows. Eeyore is the only one that is giving any indication (facialy-sp?) of an emotion. I don't understand. But that's normal i guess. Happy Monday...
Posted by: Roses | Monday, 24 September 2007
Thanks for all your comments,
This projection thing is a funny business. To me it is so obvious about these three characters and the common theme, but that would be the case as I am projecting my script onto them. And of course my script is different to all yours.
They don't speak. Snorky and Marvin didn't say anything at all and if Eeyore said anything it was very little. So if they don't speak that makes them mime artists like Marcel Marceau. They communicate with no words. You don't have to listen to them you only have to watch them to undersatnd what they are saying (Communicating).
So that it would seem is part of my life script.

Tony,
I like that bit about watch them to understand what they are saying. Cant do that in cyber-space though; unless you install a webcam!
:-)
I had a thought about your post on the way to work and what characters I would come up with for me...though I decided it would have been easier and more preferable to come up with characters I'd want to be. Anyhows, this is what i came up with..
Carrie Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie and
Elizabeth Walton from The Waltons !!!
:-)
Anyone else fancy a go?..
Roses, Lynn, Kenoath, Madeleine - are you game to share your characters?
:-)
Posted by: kahless | Monday, 24 September 2007
And
G'day Roses - glad to see you back.
Hi Lynn - glad you liked the huggable description.
Posted by: kahless | Monday, 24 September 2007
At a group I went to many many years ago, we had to say a famous character we admired and why. I've always had trouble with that sort of thing. It was in a group and other people spoke and it kept getting closer and closer to my turn. finally I thought of something. I picked Henry VIII, and the reason, cause he changed the rules to get what he wanted. I couldn't work out why everyone laughed when I said that, until I realised what I had said. Guess who would love to change the rules just to get what she wants !!!!!!
Posted by: Madeleine | Monday, 24 September 2007
Hi Kahless,
If you modify it a bit you can do endless 'mime' in cyber space and blogging at virtually no cost.
Most of the pictures i use in my postings are mime. They are visual presentations of what is relevant to what I am saying. Of course with video one can do motion picture 'mimes'.
So give us a picture(s) of Carrie Ingalls and Elizabeth Walton on your blog.

I like that madeleine,
King Henry VIII !!!!!

Tony,
I will do so either tonight or tomorrow; I will let you know when I have done it as I may widen the post a little; I will take a spin on what Madeleine has done and include who I'd want to be too / admire.
Madeleine,
Know what you mean. At work I always never sit at back or the front or at either end of a table; in case someone decides to do something by going round the room. Also dont sit next to the person who is chair / running the session. I like time to think what I am going to say too.
Hope you are not as ruthless as Henry VIII !!! I kind of like my head attached to my body.
:-)
Posted by: kahless | Monday, 24 September 2007
Henry VIII didn't cut off heads, he just changed the rules so he could divorce them hehehe. And I'm very ruthless, Kahless. Gotta watch this woman !!!
Posted by: Madeleine | Monday, 24 September 2007
Yes I watched the Banana Splits many times as well Roses.
"Hold the bus"!!!
We uesd to say that each morning when my father would drive us to the bus stop to catch the bus to school.
And they had those 6 wheeler buggies they used to drive around in.
Snorky in some ways reminds me of that Marx Brother who was mute and didn't say anyhting either. He would just honk his horn.
What was his name?
I recall Harpo, Groucho and ?
Tony
Posted by: Tony | Monday, 24 September 2007
I presume they were tv shows Graffiti???
Never heard of them.
Posted by: Madeleine | Monday, 24 September 2007
Yes Madeleine,
The Banana Splits was a TV show. Once a week for maybe an hour or two each week.
The Marx brothers were mainly movies as I understand it. I thought they were great but then i also liked the original three stooges as well
Graffiti
Posted by: Graffiti | Monday, 24 September 2007
So who was Marvin the Martian?? I was probably still living in Canada when these guys were on Aussie TV. I sure don't remember them from my kids.
Posted by: Madeleine | Monday, 24 September 2007
I would be Bond, James Bond. Drive around in a flashy Astin Martin car, make love to Ursala Andress and die another day.

But Graffiti, Marvel the Martian does talk. He gets very angry, very very angry. Remember the 2457 Space Modulator?

Just gotta love Bugs and Marvel. You can watch them on the net thank goodness.

They're all fictional? ;) Just kidding, I have no idea, are you going to share your thoughts on why they are characters you can relate to in the next post?
Posted by: QofD | Tuesday, 25 September 2007
Hi Madeleine,
I guess Henry VIII didn't do it personally, he got others to chop off his wives heads instead, before he changed the rules.
I will be mindful of your ruthlessness and watch you carefully.
:-)
Tony,
I have posted the pictures on my blog now.

Hi, Tony. I like Spock and the crew of the original Enterprise (except for Kirk). I also like Survivorman. Have you seen that show? It's really good. I think Survivorman kind of took Steve Erwin's place for me because I am a little disturbed by the manner of death. I hate irony.
Posted by: Lynn | Tuesday, 25 September 2007
You can't say that Kenoath
But Graffiti, Marvel the Martian does talk.
You have ruined my script!!
It just goes to show you what a bit of modifying reality can do to keep the world consistent. Marvin does talk as you demonstrate. He is certainly not as verbose as the other two and he has no mouth to be seen.
Huge eyes and no mouth, maybe that's why I chose him to remember as not saying anything (or at least very little).
Hey I'm allowed to change reality to make the world fit my script fit right, if I want to kenoath,

Hi Lynn,
Spock was entertaining for me rather than being a figure i could relate to. There is not really anyone in that show who hits the spot for me.
Now people I am talking the real Star trek here. the original TV series one. Where the octopus monster with three heads who would shoot electricity chasing Kirk and Scotty and you would see the feet of the person inside the monster under the costume.
I like Kirk as the hero but I suppose saving the world (Shit, the universe) would be nice but its not my script really.
Scoty was fun with
Captian Kirk: "Beam me up scoty"
Scoty: "But cpt'n she woont take it"
He to me is more the over reactor, hysteric type and that is not me at all. hey I have huge eyes and no mouth remember.
Graffiti
Posted by: Tony | Tuesday, 25 September 2007
Do you remember the Star Treking song..
Scotty's lines were
"you canne' change the laws of physics
laws of physics
laws of physics
you canne' change the laws of physics
laws of physics
jim"
but I guess its ok to change reality Graffiti

Queen of Dysfunction,
are you going to share your thoughts on why they are characters you can relate to
You have left me with a dilemma QofD
My narcissism wants to seize the opportunity you offer me and talk about myself more yet again and again. Oh how I love this I can talk about myself endlessly.
Me, me, me
Me, myself and I
What else is there in the universe but ME to talk about
But your query also leaves me feeling a little coy. I will talk about myself as you know but your request for some reason is getting a little bit too personal!
What will I do with this dilemma?
Graffiti
Posted by: Graffiti | Tuesday, 25 September 2007
Yes you can Graffiti. Didn't want to ruin your script party. Marvin and Bugs were my favorite cartoons because Marvin wanted to blow up the earth and Bugs was the reluctant hero.

Ohh Tony!
I didn't know there were lots of Marx bros. I found something on the quiet guy. He was Harpo - the none vocal one. I was going to say silent but he was far from silent. Harpo, Chico, Groucho, Zeppo, Gummo. I think the other one you wanted to remember was Chico. I'd never watched them before but I have now. Harpo died 2 years after I was born. I've given you this link because it has a lot of info in it incase there are other marvin martians out there - enquiring minds :

I waited and waited but i think the cyber black hole swallowed my comment whole! Umm, well, I guess i'll try again...
This is my fav person. No it's not Brad Pitt. Well yes it is Brad Pitt but he's not the person i relate to the most. It's the character he's playing...

The sound is pretty bad so if you want to hear what's being said turn up your speakers. This one is lovely...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ2UCrRstn4&mode=related&search=
It is of course a 'chick flick' so i don't expect you to watch it.
Death experiencing life. That's what it's about. Joe Black is death who took a body from a young man earlier in the flick. I also relate to the fight her dad put up for her.
But this is beautiful...

I don't know. The whole thing makes full sense to me. Love it.
Happy Wednesday ...
Ps, i'll put this one here because you are interested in this kind of stuff...

Hi Tony,
Check out Tigger's song on youtube. I also came across Norman Wisdom singing I'm forever blowing bubbles ( maybe he's a hammer too??). It's poignant as he's in a nursing home.
Got to get back to my bread and honey now.
Nick.

Hi Nick,
