Happy mother's day
I should write a post on mothers. As a psychotherapist you see them get a terrible onslaught in the counselling room. I do feel for them at times. The vast majority are just trying to do their best.

I should do a post on the Parent Interview technique. I always like doing those and that would help out mothers on this day of days.

I'd like to see someone write a book on mothers of monsters, so that we could all see how no to do it. I've been reading the Josef Fritzl editorial features with interest, waiting for some analysis of his own upbringing. Haven't seen any yet. Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao et al, they all had mothers - what happened? Or is there often, as I suspect in the absence of evidence, an iron-fisted patriarch who disallows the influence of the feminine, and thereby hastens such dysfunction.
It needs a psychotherapist or equivalent to do such research.

Why is it always mothers who get the blame?

Because Madeleine,
Some mothers do have 'em

Actually I read something quite interesting about his mother but I cant link you to it because it is on a subscription forum. It was about his childhood. Do you want me to copy it and put it here?
I actually havent heard people blaming his mother Madeleine.

Oh, and in my mothers world yes, she has done so much for me and tried her best. Guess I am, to use her words, an ungrateful bitch.

Do I detect a tone of angst or cynicism?

Yes Tony, you do.
Hey, I think you'd make a good counsellor you know
:-)

[Not sure my previous comment came through]
Yes, Tony, you do.
It pops out every now and then.

Kahless... some popping out is nice but some is just a little strange don't you think?
Happy mothers day to all the mums and dads and kids. With out a combination of some sort - there would be no such thing as mothers day. There are getting to be more and more 'flower' type days in a year now Tony. I prefer to get a plant - they take longer to kill than cut flowers. *Giggles* Talk about saving the trees - the answer is simple - just don't give them to me and their chances of survival will rise considerably!
Man! It's so difficult to have a go on this computer these days. We've the whole family, including dogs, cats, fish, birds.. living with us for a while. They all computer and now i don't so much. Bumma hey!
