Self destruction or stress leave?

"Death instinct
n. Psychiatry

A primitive impulse for destruction, decay, and death, postulated by Sigmund Freud as coexisting with and opposing the life instinct. Also called Thanatos.
Death wish. " Dictionary.com

I don't know if i understand this one - are you saying that as you unrobe, the life you expose simultaneously exposes the co-existing death wish?

Thanatos had a dad too.

You got it Roses.

Just trying to define that instinctual desire in our very souls for self and others destruction.

Tony, I think, maybe, the destructive urge might be one of self-preservation. Perhaps it gives the illusion of preservation to have control of destruction and decay.

Hi Lynn,

As the theory goes we all have a

Thanatos vs Eros

or

Mortido vs Libido

An urge or instinct to preserve and create and a urge or instinct to destroy

Cheers

Well then, it would pay to know ones Lilith by entering into the darker spaces of ones mind. In my view this cannot be done on cue, like making an entry in ones diary; Rather, one tends to find themselves in those "dark" lilith spaces - swept along in a strong current. Hopefully the journey there (Lilith) is useful in some way?

It may have a correlation to the concept of Dharma.

Tony! Oh my goodness! I passed my assignment 1. Un-beleeeevable! So amazing, so great!

ALSO...

Just popped in to say g'day. I'm really pleased that i'm getting some juicy info for my essay (assignment 2). I think it's actually going to happen and i'm hoping it makes sense too. That would be exciting - especially to the person who has to mark the thing.

Nice to see you're taking time to breathe. Its good to breathe.

Yeah - I saw that you've been getting some stinking hot days over there. Air conditioning is a pretty good idea i recon. Ice is always a nice thing too.

Ok, i'm off to get some more writing done.

Happy Friday night...

Nothing meaningful from me...
I was just mesmerised by the video colours....
cool!

That was pretty meaningful Kahless.

Well Thanatos passed me by Roses.
I was just memorised by the reflection in his sunglasses and the person walking through the door and the double movement of hand to glasses.

And then what happens is that I get lost in the detail and miss the big picture Roses.

Posted by: Kahless | Saturday, 10 January 2009

I think you are a big picture person Roses.

Posted by: Kahless | Saturday, 10 January 2009

Big picture person? *Giggles* Gosh, we're so often alike - so funny Kahless!

I didn't mention the curiosity ignited while watching a part of his life via a reflection. Usually reflections are reversed images - must take care to remember that one.

I think the picture was like a 'negative' - you know the photo negatives we used to get with the developed pictures back from the shop. Before the days we just pluged in the camera or memory card and printed them out at a shop some where.

I'm in the middle of attempting to grasp a simplistic understanding of the Nurture vs Nature stuff. There's so much involved i just can't seem to see the forest because of all the bloomin' trees!

By golly, I hope the clever people who can write - incredibly and precisely - all the things they know, appreciate what they have!

So annoying!

By the way... how's ur day been so far Kahless?

Posted by: roses | Saturday, 10 January 2009

Yes - i sms a lot. Sorry about that. i meant to say...

"... how's your day been so far Kahless?"

Posted by: roses | Saturday, 10 January 2009

Roses,
I got your comment through on my email but it is not here. Maybe my page isnt refreshing right.

You think we alike? I think we think in different ways Roses, you can see the forest from the trees, I see the trees and not always the forest dont you think. Both ways have there advantages and disadvantages. Maybe we complement in that respect?

So Nurture vs Nature stuff?
Now that is an interesting one. What is the most powerful of the two...? I'd guess nuture.

And my day? Where it is 1.30am here. Should start to think to go to sleep. I have been negative scanning all night. Got caught up in the detail; studying backgrounds to photographs.

Posted by: Kahless | Saturday, 10 January 2009

Ahh, that's why.
Yeah - its difficult to NOT include things and people in the back or fore ground isn't it?

Hope you get it all done and/or have a really good night's sleep. Tomorrow for you is Saturday. Saturday over there has had rather nice beginnings I hope yours is a good one.

Chreers... roses

"I'd guess nuture" - i agree but i can't help see that the biological process makes it so. I guess i could just mention that somewhere. Happy night and Saturday bright!

Hi Tony,

self-destruction or stress leave? Given the choice i think i'd go for stress leave, rejuvenate and pick up some eros, mellow out and listen to some fleetwood mac. At school it was always fun to fake sickness and lay in bed imagining all the other kids being bored out of their tiny little brains while I stayed at home and lived like a king.

Happy days.

I think I will take the stress leave as well Nick.

I also faked a couple of sick days from school and got mothers special attention all day long

Cheers
